ASET is a Quito-based design studio founded by Sebastián Alarcón. The studio treats fabrication as a primary design tool, using metal sheet bending and MIG/TIG welding not as finishing steps but as the generative logic from which geometry emerges. This process-led approach places ASET within a lineage of structurally honest design thinking that runs from Jean Prouvé's exposed metalwork through Konstantin Grcic's industrial rigor. Working primarily in stainless steel, the studio develops furniture and storage systems where construction methods are never concealed but become the visual language of the object itself. ASET's work is characterized by single-material discipline, modular thinking, and a commitment to structural clarity over decorative ambition.
