Atelier Fomenta is a Montreal-based design studio formed by Julia Arvelo, Florence Barnabé, and Muriel Bentolila, based at 7080 Alexandra St. The studio's practice is rooted in curiosity toward industrial and accessible materials, translated into collections of objects for residential and commercial spaces. All Fomenta projects are handmade in Montreal with local artisans. The studio works with an economy of means and gestures and describes its approach as including a touch of humour. Collections include Fold Hang, Dice, Mesitas, Rubber Tables, Rubber Libraries, Rubber Lamps, Nao, Espejo, and Construction I. Custom design work spans bookshelves, installations, and interior objects for galleries, restaurants, and cultural spaces. Recent exhibitions include Milan Design Week 2026, New York Design Week, Copenhagen's 3daysofdesign, and Montreal Design Week.
