augustinundfrank/winkler is a Berlin-based architecture practice founded in 1986 by Georg Augustin and Ute Frank, with Steffen Winkler joining as partner in 2020. The studio works across residential, cultural, educational, and institutional projects, with a strong body of built work in Berlin and beyond. Key completed projects include the Lise-Meitner-Haus Institut für Physik at Humboldt-Universität Berlin, the Atelier Grosse in Moabit, extensions to the Havelland Grundschule, and the Zentralmensa at the University of Kassel. Ute Frank leads the Chair of Design and Building Construction at the Institute of Architecture at TU Berlin. Steffen Winkler studied architecture at TU Berlin and UdK Berlin and worked at Wiel Arets in Amsterdam before joining the practice. The studio received the Ingenieurpreis des deutschen Stahlbaus 2017 for the Kassel Mensa and the Architekturpreis Beton 2014 Anerkennung for Wohnhaus Saarow Strand. Work has been featured in numerous national and international publications.
