Brodie Neill

Brodie Neill is a Tasmanian designer based in London, where he has led a multidisciplinary studio for over two decades. He holds degrees from the University of Tasmania and the Rhode Island School of Design. Neill's practice spans collectible design, public art, and large-scale placemaking, with material innovation and environmental consciousness running through all three. He is a leading voice in circular design and a pioneering user of ocean plastic: his Gyro table was the centrepiece of Australia's presentation at the inaugural London Design Biennale in 2016. He has addressed the United Nations and European Parliament on ocean plastic waste and contributed to the First Nations-led Rubbish on the Shore think tank in Arnhem Land. In 2025, he received the Schmidt Ocean Institute's Artist-at-Sea residency to study climate impacts in Antarctica. The @Chair was listed in Time magazine's The Design 100; the Cowrie and Alpha chairs appear in Taschen's 1000 Chairs. Public commissions include a 6-metre patinated bronze sculptural seat for One Leadenhall in the City of London, installed in 2025. Work has been exhibited at Sotheby's London, Frieze Gallery London, National Gallery Victoria, Powerhouse Sydney, and the AMA Collection in Venice.
