Calen Knauf is a Canadian designer based in Vancouver, working across furniture, lighting, and product design. He studied Industrial Design at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, where his thesis project Standard Lamp won best student lighting at Design Plus 2014 in Cologne. His first produced design was licensed to Esaila in 2012. From 2013 to 2019 he worked in close collaboration with Conrad Brown as Knauf and Brown, producing furniture, custom editions, and graphic design work that won the Rising Star Award at Stockholm Furniture Fair 2017 and a shortlisting for the Dezeen Awards in Lighting Design 2018. Since then Knauf has continued as an independent studio, collaborating with companies including Tre Products, Tetra, and Stussy. He is represented by Procuratorial in Canada, Hunter Blond in the UK, and Galerie Philia internationally. Work has been published in Wallpaper, Frame, and Intramuros.
