Christopher Sitzler Architekt

Berlin, Germany

Christopher Sitzler Architekt is a Berlin-based architectural practice led by Christopher Sitzler-Brakel, who studied architecture at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (BSc 2012) and TU Berlin (MSc 2014). Prior to establishing his own practice in 2018, he worked at Pool Architekten in Zürich, EM2N Architekten in Zürich and Berlin, Robertneun in Berlin, and Adolf Krischanitz in Berlin, all with a focus on residential and commercial construction. The practice specializes in the renovation and conversion of existing buildings, motivated by a conviction that society must work sustainably with existing structures and resources. Sitzler's stated goal in renovation work is to preserve and emphasize the original DNA of existing buildings, creating spaces of high residential quality by adapting the existing fabric to current and future demands. The practice is based in Chausseestraße 131A, Mitte, Berlin. Recognition includes AD100 Germany 2024, 2025, and 2026, AD100 Poland 2026, Best of Interior 2025 (1st prize, Callwey Verlag & bdia), and a nomination for Best Workspaces 2027. Press includes AD Germany, FAZ, IGNANT, Baunetz ID, AIT, and GOODLIFE. Christopher Sitzler-Brakel was elected as a member of the BDA (Bund Deutscher Architekten) in April 2025.
