Helena Clunies-Ross

London, UK

Helena Clunies-Ross is a London-based interior architect whose work sits at the intersection of fine art and spatial design. Trained at the Chelsea College of Arts before working as Design Director under Anouska Hempel, she developed a practice defined by what she calls a Calma philosophy: an approach that treats light, shadow, and natural materials as emotional rather than purely visual elements. Her projects tend toward residential work for clients who require environments of genuine stillness, prioritizing sensory recalibration over aesthetic spectacle. Stone, timber, linen, and custom-crafted elements form a recurring material vocabulary, while her spatial thinking consistently frames nature as an organizing principle rather than decoration. Clunies-Ross operates her own studio and takes on a selective roster of bespoke commissions across the UK and internationally.
