Joel Escalona

Joel Escalona (b. 1986) is a Mexico City-based designer and founder of NONO, a furniture brand produced and exported internationally from Mexico. He holds a degree in industrial design and a master's in Contemporary Art, Markets, and Business. His practice operates at the intersection of furniture and sculpture, with pieces made to order in small batches or limited editions, all produced in Mexico with an emphasis on material integrity and tactile presence. Escalona has collaborated with Design Within Reach, Roche Bobois, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, and Fendi, and has exhibited at Art Basel, the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, Maison & Objet in Paris, ICFF in New York, and Zona Maco in Mexico City. Work has been featured in Domus, Architectural Digest Latin America, Design Milk, and Design Hunter.
