Johan Viladrich

Johan Viladrich is a French designer based in Rotterdam, working in furniture and spatial structures since 2017. Trained at the Design Academy Eindhoven, his practice is built around formal reduction and material honesty, using metals including bronze, steel, and copper to create structures from which all superfluous elements have been removed. Bolts, straps, and joints are not concealed but treated as integral parts of the design, making the construction logic of each piece visible. Viladrich aims to reveal the inherent beauty of materials through refined surface treatments, and describes each piece as a search for balance achieved through meticulous work on proportion. He has produced installations for FRAME in Aspen and for Dries Van Noten at Le Bon Marché in Paris. In 2021 he co-founded Heim+Viladrich with designer Lauriane Heim, a Montpellier-based studio working across scenography, installation, object, and interior design.
