we inc. Architect Studio is a Japanese architecture and design practice founded by Koji Mori (b. 1978, Tokyo), established in October 2006. Mori trained as a carpenter across conventional, 2x4, store construction, and miyaiku (shrine carpentry) methods before establishing the studio. Headquartered in Iruma City, Saitama, with a branch in Hayama, Kanagawa, the studio works primarily on residential design and construction in the greater Tokyo area and the Shonan coastal region including Zushi, Kamakura, and Hayama, as well as mountain retreat properties in Yamanashi and Nagano. The practice works across the full project lifecycle from land sourcing through design to construction. Beyond architecture, the studio produces furniture, lighting, and product design, and Mori undertakes photography, film, and corporate art direction. The By The Sea Hut was featured in Leibal in 2025. Lake Kawaguchi Hut was published in Plain Magazine in 2026.
