Oslo, Norway / Medellin, Colombia
LCLA office is an architecture and landscape studio directed by Colombian architect Luis Callejas and Swedish architect Charlotte Hansson, based between Oslo and Medellin. Callejas studied and taught at Harvard GSD from 2011 to 2016 before becoming a full professor at the Oslo School of Architecture. Hansson's background includes positions at Space Group, White Arkitekter, and Alab. Together, the studio works across scales and disciplines, bridging architecture and landscape in projects that resist a clear distinction between the two. Completed work includes the aquatic park for the IX South American Games in Medellin and the renovation of the main stadium in Bogota. LCLA has been nominated for the EU Mies Award and the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize, and received the Architectural League of New York Prize for Young Architects in 2013. The studio has exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale, Oslo Architecture Triennial, Seoul Biennale, and Chicago Architecture Biennial.
