Lewis Kemmenoe

Lewis Kemmenoe is a London-based furniture designer and maker, born in Gravesend, Kent. He holds a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins and an MA in Design from the Royal College of Art, graduating in 2018. His practice produces functional objects that are subtly subversive, with the form of each piece dictated by the organic nature of its material and an intuitive approach to making. Kemmenoe's early work centered on timber, burl veneer, and plywood, celebrating grain and surface through geometric forms and material contrast. More recently, his practice has expanded into metal, presenting organic silhouettes made from industrial materials that juxtapose the natural with the manmade. He works from a studio at HQI in Television Centre, White City, London. Solo shows include METALLURGY at Max Radford Gallery, London, extended in 2023. Collaborations include a capsule collection, ænigma, produced for Fendi at Design Miami 2024. Work has been published in Wallpaper*, Sight Unseen, and Dezeen.
