Manuel Urbina is a London-based registered architect and founder of Manuel Urbina Studio, established in 2020. Born in Venezuela and of Spanish heritage, Urbina studied architecture at the University of Portsmouth, where he was awarded the 2015 RIBA Overall Prize, before completing his Masters and RIBA Part 3 at the University of Westminster. His design philosophy is grounded in material honesty and formal reduction, stripping ideas back to their simplest form to examine how spaces support the way people live. The studio takes on a limited number of residential projects each year, working across extensions, loft conversions, basements, reconfigurations, and fit-outs from concept through to construction. The Heyford Avenue project won the Don't Move Improve! 2024 People's Choice Award. Work has been featured in ArchDaily, Minimalissimo, Leibal, and Vogue Taiwan.
