niceworkshop

Seoul, South Korea

niceworkshop is a Seoul-based design studio founded in 2021 by Hyunseog Oh, who studied interior architecture at Soongsil University and worked briefly in construction before establishing the practice. The studio works alongside business partner Sangmyeong Yoo and specializes in furniture, objects, and interior design, with a practice built around industrial materials and the visible logic of construction. Nothing is concealed in niceworkshop's work: structural systems, bolts, joinery, and material processes are all made explicit. Key series include the Bolt collection, which uses full-threaded screws as primary structural elements; the Affordance series, which borrows its form language from conveyor belt rollers and industrial lifts; and the Al-Form collection, produced from aluminium formwork salvaged from large-scale building sites. The studio has collaborated with Rimowa, ASUS, and FORMAT. Work has been shown at Milan Design Week, Paris Design Week, and in solo exhibitions at HAHOUSE in Seoul and THE PLUG in Tokyo. Press coverage includes Dezeen, Wallpaper, Hypebeast, and Sabukaru.
