Brooklyn, New York / Athens, Greece
Objects of Common Interest is a research and design studio founded by Eleni Petaloti and Leonidas Trampoukis, with offices in Brooklyn and Athens and a resin fabrication workshop in Piraeus, Greece, opened in 2022. The studio creates still life installations, experiential environments, and objects that explore materiality, conceptual depth, and tangible spatial experiences. Rooted in the cultural landscapes of Greece and New York, the practice moves between formal precision and intuitive creativity, embracing the handmade, tactile, experimental, and poetic. The Piraeus workshop was established to give the studio the freedom to experiment with materials and processes while remaining connected to hands-on making. Clients include Gucci, Kvadrat, CC-Tapis, Tacchini, Bitossi, Rimowa, Charlotte Chesnais, Valextra, Technogym, and OpenAI. Awards include ELLE DECOR EDIDA Designer of the Year 2024, Wallpaper* Designer of the Year 2022, Dezeen Award Designer of the Year 2022 (public vote), AD100 2022 and 2023, Wallpaper* Design Award 2026 Best Scene Stealers, and Wallpaper* Architects Directory 2014. Work has been published in Wallpaper*, T Magazine, Elle Decor, Abitare, Monocle, and Living Corriere.
