TELLS STUDIO is a Hangzhou-based furniture design practice founded in 2015 by Xinyu Dang and Jia He. The studio works across furniture and object design, with a focus on multi-material combinations grounded in craft and material research. Dang and He describe furniture as something that should be decorative as well as functional, keeping each piece interesting and unexpected. The studio has exhibited at Milan Design Week, the Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair, Design Shanghai, and the Shanghai International Furniture Fair. Awards include the iF Design Award 2018, Golden Pin Design Award 2019, K-Design Award 2019, and a Dezeen Awards longlisting in 2019. Both founders were named to Forbes 30 Under 30 China in 2021. Work has been published in Dezeen, Wallpaper, AD China, and Elle Deco.
