Thomas Serruys (b. 1986) is a furniture designer based in Bruges, Belgium, with a background in art, antiques, and 20th-century design. He established his atelier in 2016, working first from the port of Ostend, then as a resident of Zaventem Ateliers in Brussels, and now from a former cotton spinnery on the ringway of Bruges. His pieces are marked by logical simplicity and traditional craftsmanship with an experimental twist, with shapes and proportions chosen intuitively. Materials are selected based on how well an object can age and endure over time.
