Antwerp, Belgium
Vincent Van Duysen (b. 1962, Lokeren, Belgium) is an architect and designer based in Antwerp, where he founded his practice in 1990 after studying architecture at the Sint-Lucas Institute in Ghent and working in Milan with Aldo Cibic. His practice works across architecture, interior design, furniture, and product design, with a particular concentration in residential and hospitality projects. The studio's approach is grounded in the physical experience of space, materials, and light, with pure and tactile materials used to produce work that resists fashion and trends. Van Duysen became Creative Director of Italian furniture brand Molteni&C in 2016, designing their flagship stores including the Palazzo Molteni in Milan. Additional collaborations include product design for Flos and Zara Home. Notable completed projects include Hotel August in Antwerp and residential work across Europe, the UAE, and the United States. Monographs of his work have been published in 2001, 2010, 2018, and 2024. Van Duysen is one of the key figures associated with Belgian minimalism.
