Vormen is a Belgian design practice formed by visual artist Edouard Devriendt and furniture maker Leon Duyck. The studio focuses on intuitive exploration of shapes and materials, handcrafting objects and furniture that investigate both function and the poetic possibilities of how things are made. Material research and physical prototyping in the atelier are central to their process, with each object developed through a continuous dialogue between the 2 makers' sensibilities. All Vormen objects are made in Belgium. Key works include the Living Objects stool, the Leaning Cabinet in precision-welded steel, a ceramic vase series whose form is determined by kiln-fired cuts, and the Jeanne chair, designed collaboratively with the architecture practices Elmes and Générale and artist duo Sarah & Charles for the restaurant at Kanal Centre Pompidou in Brussels, opening in 2026. Work has been published in Dezeen and featured on Belgium is Design.
