Laisse Beton

Construction Recast as Furniture

New York studio Atelier d’Amis created Laisse Beton, a collection that borrows the language of construction and reimagines it for the home.

Rebars become chair legs. Grids turn into tabletops. Pinion elevators transform into armoires. Each piece carries a trace of the building site, but reworked with precision and elegance.

The designers use ultra-thin ceramic plates finished to look like concrete, paired with brass-plated tubular steel. The contrast of raw and refined materials creates a balance between industrial toughness and contemporary polish. Surfaces are treated against stains and available in light, medium, dark, and black shades. Pipes, grids, and plates can be matched across six finishes, making the collection both customizable and cohesive.

Laisse Beton shows how the everyday materials of construction can become high-end furniture, shifting from scaffolding and slabs to objects with presence, character, and permanence.
