North West London Family Home is a full renovation of a late-Victorian house in North West London by interior architect and designer Evelina Mamedovaite. She kept the house's period character and layered materials and antiques into it rather than stripping it back.
Some of the decisions are small. The oak floorboards change direction from room to room, marking thresholds without doors or trim, and in the family bathroom, small upholstery pins sit between the grout lines of the tiles.
The primary bedroom is wrapped in wool, linen, mohair, and moire silk, lit by an alabaster pendant, with Robin Myerscough's bronze column lamps on 19th-century pedestal side tables from Lorfords.
In the family and drawing rooms, custom solid oak joinery runs around the perimeter with Charlotte Perriand wall lights above it, and its edge profile carries from the family room cabinetry onto the drawing room shelves. An iron chandelier and an octagonal etched Venetian mirror from Puckhaber Antiques hang in the drawing room.
