Destroyers/Builders is a Brussels and Antwerp-based design studio founded by Linde Freya Tangelder in 2014. The studio works at the intersection of furniture and architecture, producing sculptural pieces in which materials drawn from construction are scaled down to human proportions and reconsidered through hand intervention and material contrast. Both low and high-end materials are revalued and transformed, with tactile finishes and visible human traces central to the studio's method. The practice takes on both commissions and self-initiated projects, spanning architectural furniture and interior design. Ongoing gallery representation includes Aequo Gallery, Nilufar Gallery, Licht Gallery, Stephanie Frederickx, and Uppercut Gallery. Collaborations include Cassina (ongoing), valerie_objects, Hem X, Dior Maison, Kassl Editions, and CC-Tapis. Tangelder is also one of the 5 members of BRUT, a Belgian design collective. Work has been featured in T-Magazine New York Times, Wallpaper, Openhouse, and AD Magazine.
