McLean Quinlan

London, United Kingdom

McLean Quinlan is an architecture practice founded in the late 1970s by Fiona McLean, Stephen Quinlan, and Peter Ditlef-Nielsen, with McLean working from London and a drawing studio in Winchester opened in 2011. Director Kate Quinlan and Alastair Bowden later joined the practice. It designs houses in towns and the countryside, in the UK and overseas, combining vernacular and modern elements and detailing down to wall finishes and door handles. Its work includes Devon Valley House, Cotswold Barn, a Chelsea townhouse, a Passivhaus villa in Devon, projects in Jackson Hole and Portugal, and Ercolina, its first project in Italy.
