Sigurd Larsen

Sigurd Larsen Design & Architecture is a Berlin-based practice founded by Danish architect Sigurd Larsen in 2010. Larsen holds a bachelor's degree from the School of Architecture in Aarhus and a master's degree from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, and previously worked at OMA in New York, MVRDV in Rotterdam, and Topotek1 in Berlin, with a partnership at COBE Berlin from 2013 to 2015. Since 2016 he has been a professor at Berlin International University of Applied Sciences. The studio works across architecture, interior architecture, and furniture design, following the Danish tradition of designing across every scale of a project without a strict divide between building and product. Completed work spans single-family houses, hotels, and public schools in Denmark, Germany, Austria, France, Greece, and the United States, including the Michelberger Hotel and Farm in Berlin and the Løvtag treetop hotel in Denmark. The studio favors materials that develop patina over time, including copper, wood, concrete, leather, and steel, with a consistent emphasis on context-driven and climate-responsive design. Sigurd Larsen furniture is sold in galleries and stores across more than a dozen cities internationally.
