Designer Max Lamb created the Aluminum Thermal Spray series exclusively for Salon 94. Guided by his motto, “Let’s just make it instead of drawing it,” the pieces begin as hand-cut polystyrene forms. Each surface is then coated with layers of bronze, copper, or aluminum through a thermal spray process.

The first chair in the series debuted at the 11th International Festival of Design at Villa Noailles in Hyères, France. Its raw presence caught attention and led to further commissions, including custom versions for Acne Studios’s flagship stores in New York and San Francisco.

The collection has since expanded into planters, vases, shelving, tables, and chairs. Each object holds the immediacy of Lamb’s process — forms carved by hand, finished in shimmering metal skins that make everyday furniture feel sculptural and elemental.
