The Bend Series by PRACTICE takes square stainless steel pipes as its starting material: the same standardized industrial profiles used in architectural refurbishments and interior construction. The pipes come in 3 section sizes, 30×30, 50×50, and 20×40mm, all of which are available as off-the-shelf construction components. PRACTICE treats these dimensions not as constraints but as the formal vocabulary from which the furniture is derived.

The transformation is achieved through 2 techniques: cutting and bending. Neither adds material to the pipe or conceals its original industrial character. The forms that result are direct products of what the material can do when subjected to these operations, seating, tables, and other typologies built from the same structural language as the walls and frames the pipes were originally made for.

The surface treatment is equally considered. Pipes in the collection are finished with deliberate scratches or left to emphasize their natural reflective quality, depending on the piece. Both approaches work in the same direction: making the material's own character the primary surface rather than covering it with paint or coating. The stainless steel reads as stainless steel throughout, in a collection that begins and ends with what the industrial object already is.
