U&I Coffee Table

Geometry in Contrast

Birnam Wood Studio, working with Suna Bonometti, designed the U&I Coffee Table as a study in sharp forms and rich materials.

The table combines anodized aluminum, brushed brass, and blue-dyed terrazzo concrete. Each material holds its own presence, yet together they create a balance between cool precision and tactile warmth. Straight lines meet soft curves, primary forms collide with unexpected textures.

Every part of the table connects with mechanical fasteners, so it can be assembled or taken apart with just a single allen key. That choice makes the piece feel both refined and approachable — sculptural in presence, but grounded in practicality.

The U&I Coffee Table shows how strong contrasts can work together. Industrial surfaces and crafted finishes meet in one object, creating a design that feels at once bold, playful, and carefully restrained.
