Mo30 is a lounge chair designed by Byungsub Kim in collaboration with Jungwoo Rhee. The form takes the corner of a room as its starting point: the specific spatial condition of 2 walls meeting at a right angle, which produces a naturally enclosed and sheltered position. The chair translates that geometry into furniture, producing a seat that carries a similar sense of enclosure without being bounded by architecture.

The structure is an M-shape in steel, which creates the corner-like configuration the chair is built around. A black-stained wood detail reinforces the frame and adds structural stability, providing a visual and material anchor against the lightness of the steel. The combination of the 2 materials is direct: steel for the primary geometry, wood for the detail that grounds it.

The chair is sized and shaped for a single person and oriented toward stillness rather than sociability, functioning as a private nook within a larger room. The formal reference to the room corner is both the conceptual starting point and a practical spatial solution, giving the chair its contained character without requiring walls to achieve it.
